About the Awards
As the smart grid vision continues to gather pace in the Middle East, a number of exciting projects are popping up that are pushing the limits of what was previously feasible and possible – both in terms of scale and impact, and in terms of technological advancement. To recognize those utilities, projects and service providers that have caught the attention and imagination of the industry, of the media, and of the wider international smart grid community for their innovation and quality, Metering International congratulates these utilities and service providers with the Metering International Excellence Awards.
Call for nominations
The second Metering International Excellence Awards presented at Smart Energy Middle East recognize and honor utilities and their service providers for their outstanding contributions to applying practical Smart energy, operational and customer engagement practices. Electric, gas, and water utilities from across the Middle East are eligible to be nominated. Utilities and Service providers can be nominated by anybody in the industry. Nominate a colleague that has pulled off the seemingly impossible, or a client that has taken your technology solution “to the next level.”

Smart Energy Excellence 2011 Award:
This award will go to a utility that can demonstrate the sustainability in its deployment of smart systems such as a sustainable grid, communications systems, command and control.
Smart Utility 2011 Award:
This award will go to the utility that has demonstrated best practices in the transformation to a smart utility. This could be in terms of successful smart metering deployments or smart grid projects.
Smart Technology Innovation 2011 Award:
This award will go to the company leading the way with an innovative technology, helping the industry to move forward. This can be in terms of smart metering, billing and customer management.
